Whitey's Liquors: A local gem for Over 70 Years

Whitey’s Liquors, located at 803 North Hammonds Ferry Road in Linthicum has been a go-to spot for craft beer enthusiasts and liquor lovers for more than 70 years. Known for its amazing selection of craft beers and friendly service, Whitey's is much more than just a liquor store—it’s a community hub. Over the years, Rob Goss and his team have built strong relationships with several local breweries and become known as one of the best liquor and craft beer stores in the area.

Rob is always up to date with the latest releases and local favorites, making it easy to find new and exciting beers to try any time you walk through his doors. The first time I met Rob I was looking to put together a selection of Star Wars themed beers for a May the Fourth beer review event for the Brew Crew. He was more than happy to make me a mix and match sixer of all the local staples, and we proceeded to chat beer and baseball for almost an hour. Yet it felt like 5 minutes.

Recently Whitey’s was responsible for one of the coolest collaborations in a while, partnering with Nepenthe on the Forgotten Lore American Lager, which has become a hit with local craft beer nerds, as it celebrates Maryland’s brewing heritage, inspired by the historic Gunther Lager, with a nice Nepenthe twist on the classic recipe. Whitey’s support of local breweries through social media and community outreach helps connect customers to some of the best beers Maryland has to offer.

Whitey’s doesn’t just sell beer—they throw some of the best community events in the area. One event you won’t want to miss is the Beer and Donuts Halloween Extravaganza on October 26th, 2024, from 12 to 4 PM. Craft beer lovers from around the area and come out and enjoy delicious donuts from several local bakeries while sipping on selected craft beers from 20 of Maryland’s favorite local independent craft breweries, all with a fun Halloween vibe. You will find craft beer reps, brewers and even doggies dressed up in their Halloween costumes, celebrating together with the folks that make this community one of the best around. It’s the perfect way to get into the Halloween season!

Fan favorite events like the Jaws Movie Night and Music and Brewers Festivals have become a hit and something people look forward to every year.
